Did you know that Ann Arbor is famous for its local art scene? The city has become famous in recent years for the four-day Ann Arbor Art Fair, which spans nearly 30 city blocks and features some of the best professional works from local, national and international artists. 

It’s with great excitement and relief that the Ann Arbor Art Fair will return in 2021, after being cancelled during the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can rest assured that the event will be managed professionally, securely and with appropriate consideration for ongoing health and sanitation concerns. All the same, you’ll still be able to enjoy the offerings of the best artists in the business. 
What is the Ann Arbor Art Fair? 

The Ann Arbor Art Fair is a four-day event that brings together more than 1,000 artists from throughout Michigan and beyond. It offers you the chance to see, experience and even purchase some of the amazing and unique creations of today’s art diaspora. 

There Ann Arbor Art Fair is made up of three separate fairs, each showcasing unique pieces from throughout the art world. 

• The Original Ann Arbor Art Street Fair 
  

The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization whose mission is to increase public knowledge and appreciation for contemporary fine arts and fine crafts by creating opportunities that connect artists, the Ann Arbor community and the general public to their mutual benefit, including a top-quality juried street art fair. 

• The State Street Art Fair 
  

The Ann Arbor State Street Art Fair distinguishes itself by showcasing an eclectic mix of the finest art by talented artists alongside its local businesses amid the beautiful skyline of Ann Arbor’s historic theater district. 

The retail climate explodes with a host of merchant displays and food of all kinds as outdoor shoppers search for sales or relax while enjoying a beverage or meal amid the throngs of artist displays. 

• Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair 
  

The Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair is run by The Guild of Artists & Artisans, a non-profit Artist Membership Organization whose mission is to provide marketing opportunities to artists. It is the only show run by and for the artists. The Summer Art Fair stretches from Ann Arbor’s charming downtown to the campus of the University of Michigan. 

When is the Art Fair? 

Due to ongoing COVID-19 regulations, 2021’s fair will take place over three days as opposed to four. The fair will take place from July 15 – 17, and the hours are: 

• Thursday – Friday: 10 AM – 9 PM 

• Saturday: 10 AM – 7 PM 

Visitors should continue to check the Ann Arbor Art Fair site for more information about health and safety precautions that are being observed at this year’s fair. Masks are encouraged, and hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the fair area. Additionally, there will be increased space between booths to encourage social distancing.
